For years, mothers have been told that the only path worth following is to return to work a full-time work schedule soon as possible after the birth of their children. If returning to work is a mother’s ambition, then fine. However, many studies have shown that most mothers would rather stay home and take care of their children. The MOMS Club believes that all mothers should choose for themselves the direction that is best for themselves and their families.
Unfortunately, society in general continues to pressure mothers to go back to work and leave their children in day care. The media in particular continues to emphasize the rights and problems of the working mother. Most people don’t understand that our challenges, although different, are just as real as those of the working mother.
The MOMS Club was designed specifically to help stay-at-home mothers overcome those challenges. We not only accept your chosen profession (staying home to raise your children), we applaud it!
Our chapter has monthly meetings with speakers and discussions, weekly outings for moms and their children and age-based play groups, a monthly MOMS night out, and various family parties. There is a monthly newsletter that provides helpful information for moms and keeps members posted of the month's events. We are also active in serving the community with service projects to benefit mothers and children in need in our local area.
Our activities are during the day, when mothers-at-home need support. The only exception being our monthly MOMS Night Out. We believe being a mother shouldn't isolate you, so children are always welcome at our activities!
Our board members are MOMS Club moms who are ready to help you every step of the way. You can always call them for advice, ideas and help.
This club is not just about our children; it is also about us. As a stay-at-home mom it is difficult to meet new people and to tackle all of the tasks a mother has to do. The most important thing to remember is we are all here to support one another in any way possible. We know being an at-home mother today means making a financial sacrifice, so our dues are a minimal $20 a year.
At-home mothers of any age children are welcome. You don't have to leave the group when your children enter school or when older children are home on summer break. We know you still need support as your children grow.
